‘The Trials of Brother Jero’ written by Wole Soyinka, is a hilarious comedy set on the now defunct Lagos Bar Beach featuring an unscrupulous young prophet and his antics. Originally published in 1969, the play which lampoons greed in society is a classic comedy piece bound to relax its audience.
The play is directed by Kenneth Uphopho (‘Saro The Musical’, ‘London Life, Lagos Living’ and ‘Paw Studios’ ) and produced by Adenugba Oluwanishola (Live Theatre on Sunday Series, King Baabu, Belong, A True Christmas Story , Band Aid), and parades Nigeria’s entertainment heavy weights including Chigul, Emmaohmygod, Oreka Godis ( Host, UrbanFM and Ebonylife TV’s Love Lounge , Actress and Celebrity), Jide Kosoko, Patrick Diabuah (‘Saro The Musical’, ‘Before30’, ‘Wakaa The Musical’), Paul Alumona, Debbie Ohiri (Naija Woman ‘Hear Word’), Goodness Emmanuel (‘Band Aid’, ‘Shattered’) Opeyemi Dada and a host of other fantastic talents.
