British Council Presents Lagos Theatre Festival 2016

From 23 to 28 February, the metropolitan city of Lagos will be hosting the biggest Arts gathering the city has ever witnessed as the 2016 edition of British Council Lagos Theatre Festival holds.

In its third edition, the six-day Festival will be an extravaganza of Music, Dance, Spoken Word, and Theatre performance.

It has been designed to be the largest outdoor theatre festival in Nigeria taking place across 20 venues in Lagos including British Council, National Arts Theatre, Freedom Park, Terra Kulture, Bogobiri, Muson Centre and University of Lagos.

The festival will feature over 100 performances from producers such as Bani Productions, Comic Republic, Creative Arts Collection UNILAG, Make It Happen Productions, Thespian Family Theatre, Troopers Arts, and Women In Arts.

There will also be four international productions by some groups from the United Kingdom, as well as special workshops for actors, creative writers, directors and producers.

Movie Alert: "Meet The In-Laws" by Niyi Akinmolayan

"They say love is all that matters, but that's not the case for these parents in "Meet the In-Laws." 

A yoruba boy falls in love with an Ibo girl and gets engaged to her. This idea doesn't go down well with their parents. Together, They must figure a way out or loose what they've worked for.

Written by  Rita Onwurah, the movie is produced by AMVCA winner Victoria Akujuobi, and directed by Akinmolayan, 

Starring Adeniyi Johnson as a Yoruba man in love with an Ibo girl played by Lilian Esoro, the movie also stars Kenneth Okolie, Amaechi Munagor, Tina Mba, Dele Odule, Blessing Onwukwe, Dayo Amusa among others.

OBIORA OBIWON kick starts his 2016 with the music video "Bunibe"

Obiora Obiwon kick starts his 2016 music year with the music video to his growing single “Bunibe”. The Bunibe visuals feature a jubilant yet inspired Obiora Obiwon as he sing-dances his way across various situations of everyday life in the city and streets of Lagos, Nigeria.

The video also marks the artiste’s co-directorial debut as he steps out with award-winning music video director, Oluyinka Davids, Phat-E on music production and St. Immaculate on concept development. The result is a crisp engaging musical which creates a desire for the replay button.

Deola Ojo Set To Premiere "Give Me A Spouse Or I Die" Movie On Valentine's Day

GIVE ME A SPOUSE OR I DIE, was premiered in Lagos Nigeria at Silverboard Cinema Ikeja on November 13th, 2015, Deola Ojo is set for another Premiere on Valentine's Day.

The movie focuses on love, suspense and family will premiere on February 14, 2016, at Silverbird Cinema Victoria Island, Lagos by 3:00pm

The movie features OYINKAN Ejoor, CHARLES Okafor, DAYO Akomolafe, DAN Foster, CHRIS Eneaji, STEVE Azuikpe, TAYE Akande, RONKE Osundiya, Lamide Akin-Balogun and other talented actors.

The film produced and directed by Frank Rajah Arase stars Yvone Nelson, Belinda Effah  David Chin, Ross Fleming, Okawa Shaznay,Diana Yekinni  Sahndra Fon Dufe, Anastasia Pekhtereva and Sira Bah.
