A young girl, Adanma who was ganged raped by two men on her way home from school and left for dead. The movie explores the psychological battle she goes through as her family refuses to report the incident to the police.

The Movie "Code of Silence" is set to make its debut in cinemas across Nigeria on Friday, 7 August, 2015.  It was produced & directed by Emem Isong. Asst. Director was Chris Eneaji. Story & original screenplay was by Bola Aduwo, who was also Associate Producer on the project.

Akpororo vs Akpororo Comedy To Hold On August 10th In Muson Centre, Lagos

Warri-born comedian and newly appointed airtel icon, Bowoto Jephta aka Akpororo, is set to crack ribs at the second edition of his comedy show, Akpororo vs Akpororo Live, which holds on the 10^th of August, 2014 from 5pm at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Akpororo has taken a solid place in the heart of many Nigerians, Africans worldwide, leading to a clamour for him to stage a one man Show tagged ‘Akpororo vs Akpororo Live at The Muson Centre’

Hosted by AY and Helen Paul, there will be a range of performances by award-winning gospel artists Sammie Okposo, Tim Godfrey, DJ Gosporella, The Pillars, Prince IK, Eben Sabina, Frank Edwards and lots more.

AFRIMA Extends call for 2015 Awards entry to Friday, July 31, 2015.

All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, in partnership with the African Union Commission, AUC, has yielded to appeals from the music industry of Africa for an extension of the call for entries for the 2015 awards to Friday, July 31, 2015.

Guidelines for submission, eligibility and the entry form are available on www.afrima.org (English) and www.afrima.org/fr (French).

AFRIMA opened the 2015 entry submission on May 18 receiving a deluge of submissions in the opening month alone. With entry submission deadline set as July 20, the awards project embarked on a continental campaign to sensitise artistes about the 2015 awards programme of events which included stakeholders conferences occurring in Addis Ababa (April 29), Kampala (May 19), Johannesburg (July 10) and Casablanca (July 23). As the host country, Nigeria also hosted AFRIMA on July 1 at the “Industry Nite” in Lagos, a high profile event that showcases the best of Nigerian music entertainment and provides a platform for music industry networking.

Other events for the 2015 main awards ceremony which holds on Saturday, November 15 include the two-day AFRIMA Music Village, November 13 -14 and the Africa Music Summit, November 14

King Sunny Ade a.k.a. KSA Set To Float Radio Station

King Sunny Ade, popularly known as KSA is set to float a radio station. The radio station which has been under works for years now will start transmission before the end of the year. According to him, the station will be the first music and culture station in Nigeria. It has also been named M&C (Music and Culture) Station. When asked why the commencement of the radio station took so long, the musician said;

Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. The NBC has its operational standard, so do I. I deliberately took time off to carefully select a team of loyal partners who share same vision on what a music station should be. Don’t forget also that this will be the first radio station in Nigeria that will be solely devoted to promoting our culture and our music, he said. Microgynon® Fe is now available in local pharmacies at a significantly lower price after it’s recent launch in Sheraton Hotels Abuja. The product comes as a result of an innovative public-private partnership between Bayer HealthCare and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

The Microgynon® brand is the world’s most widely used oral contraceptive. The reduced price enables middle-income couples to access a quality, affordable family planning product.

The partnership is designed to make more affordable family planning choices available to women through the private sector and address the growing demand for contraceptives and the overall sustainability of supply. Family planning allows couples to plan their families as they desire, reduces the risks from unintended and/or high-risk pregnancies, and improves the health of mothers and their children by allowing time between pregnancies.

After the introduction Microgynon® Fe in Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, and Kenya, the Bayer-USAID partnership will expand the initiative to several more Sub-Saharan countries by 2016. USAID Nigeria’s Director, Health, Population and Nutrition office, Dr. Nancy Lawenthal, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in helping governments meet their Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). “We are pleased that this important initiative between USAID and Bayer Healthcare is being extended to Nigeria. 

The private sector has an important role to play in contributing to sustainable development and in this case, by ensuring that Nigerian women have access to a sustainable supply of quality, affordable oral contraceptives.”

Kunle Afolayan Releases ‘EKO LAW’ Series Trailer

‘Eko Law’ series is an initiative of The Nigeria Law School, Lagos campus, and the creative idea came from the current DDG Mrs Toun Adebiyi.

 Directed by Kunle Afolayan, it stars Chief Lere Paimo, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Yemi Sodium, Shaffy, Monalisa Chinda, Ronke Osodi Oke, Kiki Omeili, and  host of the fantastic actors.

The essence of the series is to enlighten people on their legal rights and also to illustrate the difference between the laws of Lagos/Nigeria and that of other countries around the world.

The television drama series is centered around a Lagos Law firm, each episodes reveal plots interwoven around the professional and personal lives of different law firms and their consequent legal implications.

This Trailer is simply to give people a few ideas on what to expect.
